I remember clearly, as a young girl, the first time I saw a multi-pane French door. That impression sparked the inspiration that an interior could be created and could be anything other than ordinary.
To me, interior design is about creating the experience of place that moves a person to live creatively and purposefully. Home is the most important place, it's where we can truly be ourselves. A well designed and cared for home supports our spirit.
I am inspired by the beauty of color, pattern and light found in nature and repeated in the patterns of the built world. I love the way light plays on objects and changes them throughout the day, highlighting details or softening a scene. I enjoy working with color, textures, and patterns of various scales to create unique, individualized combinations.
I find my creative expression in the art of domesticity – cooking, gardening, organization, decorating and even doing the laundry. I find joy in creating comfortable spaces that invite friends and family to stay a while and enjoy the experience.
My greatest hope is to inspire others to live to their own highest calling and find pleasure in the simple things.
